Forever Palletteer reminisces

Jeanne's email about painting at the Botanical Garden prompted a reply from former St. Croix resident and a "forever Palletteer" Judy Smith who reminisced about her time volunteering at the Garden's nursery every Tuesday. She sent a photo of a painting that she and her husband John had purchased at one of the Garden's art shows.

Pelican Cove Beach, the Palms, by the Palletteers

The sea, the surf, the palms: what a perfect combination; one that none of us could resist this morning when we painted at Pelican Cove beach. Sheltered in the shade of the palms, Larry, Marilyn, and Brenda worked with their watercolors while Ginger painted in oils. Their finished paintings are pictured above, in that order, top to bottom. The sea breezes were much appreciated and the morning literally flew by. Several egrets and pelicans came by to visit too, but none managed to linger long enough to end up in one of our paintings! Jeanne came by to give her critique and join us for lunch.
