Palletteers at Fort Christiansvaern
What a great way to spend the morning after Thanksgiving! The weather was splendid and there was a nice breeze blowing as we painted various images at the fort. There were so many tempting subjects, it was difficult to choose. Some Danish tourists taking a tour of the fort stopped to give us much praise on our painting efforts, so that was a nice little bonus to the morning. Before we knew it, the morning had gone and it was time for "show and tell" on the front lawn. Glad to say that Sondra's back painting with us again! All the paintings were great and we can't wait to return to the fort to paint again! Five of us went to lunch at Lalitas and it was de-lish, of course! Love my Palletteer time!

Palletteers paint at Chenay Bay
Wow! Every time we go to paint at Chenay Bay something has changed! First it was palm trees being added to the beach. Then came the "beach beds", restaurant additions, beach "cabanas", mural screen behind the kitchen and changes around the pool. This time the bridge over the little pond by the restaurant was moved, another pond was added, and a little pavillion was built nearby. Soon to come, a deck in front of the restaurant entry. Whatever changes take place, it remains a lovely place to paint: the beach is still enticing, the cottages are still charming, and the vista is still one of St. Croix's best. The morning passed all too quickly and show and tell drew raves. Afterwards about 10 of us gathered in the Mahi restaurant to celebrate Emy's birthday. She received beautiful artworks in many forms but the one that stood out the most seemed to be the pencil portrait done by Elwin.

Palletteers Paint at Botanical Garden
The St. George Village Botanical Garden. We are so fortunate to have such a great painting venue that's always available to us on St. Croix! We'd had a pretty rainy week and thunderstorms all day Thursday, but Friday morning greeted us with sunny skies.. and they remained sunny all day! Aren't we the lucky ones??!!! We took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy painting. As usual, different things caught the eyes of our artists and the resulting "oohs" & "ahs" at our show and tell in the Great Room showed our appreciation of everyone's efforts. Elwin brought a sketch he'd done of Sandra Bullock at home. I've posted my mini's in hopes of reminding "all a you" that the deadline for getting your mini's to Jake at Gallow's Bay Frame is Novemver 23. Don't forget about them! Let's help make this year's Artists' Tree the best ever and help raise money to keep the St. George Botanical Garden one of our favorite places to paint!
