Palletteers Paint at Cruzan Gardens

Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures. ~Henry Ward Beecher

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. ~John Muir Yesterday we enjoyed that beauty and felt the healing strength to body and soul as we painted at Cruzan Gardens. For us, it was like playing.. and we loved every minute of it. After a warm welcome from Sally, there were many appreciative comments as we explored the grounds to see what would catch our imagination. Ignoring St. Croix's sudden heat wave, we quickly got entranced with trying to capture the beauty and feeling of our subjects. As brushes swished and colors emerged, the morning flew by. Once again, during our show and tell, there was a mix of florals and architecture... everything was lovely! Oh yes, a few of the artists managed to take advantage of being at St. Croix's #1 plant nursery and made some purchases before we headed to lunch and cold drinks at the 19th Hole. What a great morning!

Pleasure is spread through the earth In stray gifts to be claimed by whoever shall find. ~William Wordsworth, 1806
